When doing projects like the one were doing, we have to keep in mind the social and ethical issues and identify these as we progress through the project. These issues may influence the end result of the project and thus, reduce its impact on our multimedia system.
Through the following steps we are able to more thoroughly answer our assignments goal/purpose?
- Understanding the problem
Through class discussion and team work and the assistance of Mr Cavil, along with the guide of the dot points needed to be addressed in the syllabus, we are able to understand fully the aim of doing the assignment. - Planning
Once understanding the problem, we look at seeing the problem or possible solution from the viewpoint of withing our ability. A feasibility study would need to be considered. A feasibility study is a method of looking at the problem and identifying if it is possible. Such items as surveys, interviews and any documentation that is available could be used to make the necessary judgements. Consideration also needs to be given to the areas of finance, technical requirement time and the information system at hand. This means that to answer the question we must condsider where as;where are skills can take us? do we have the right equipment to create the best possible solution? and if so do we have the knowledge and time to do it?
We need to determine a schedule (a time limit) for getting the problem solved. If the problem is happening within a few weeks but it would take you many months to find a solution, it may not be worth solving. we need to identify a set of sub-projects that are part of the main project, because they directly influence the problem. we also need to identify the participants; young teenagers, or adult people like sir.
After having completed discussed the feasibility study, we are now able to come up with an appropriate solution based on the results we have obtained. - Designing
At this point, we consider the various ways to answer:
- Wikispaces
- Websites
- Implementing
At this point, we consider:- What training will be required to achieve a solution i.e.lack of resources
- What would be the consequences of implementing without training? i.e not knowing how to use the system were presenting our assignment.
- What conversion method would you use to implement and why? Is Phasing in better than direct?
- What methods will you use to test the system? What data are required to input into the system? What are you expecting as output? What makes the results of the data valid for your problem? Does it help solve the problem or does it cause more questions to occur?
- Once you have selected a method, explain how you would implement this in the system.
- Testing, evaluating and maintaining
Now it is time to use the data in the system. What happens? Does it help give a solution? Or does it cause more problems?
Does the data now match the original criteria you came up with during feasibility?
Can the problem be solved?
Trial and use the sysetm.
As to better our organisation, we have created a gantt chart, with presumed and anticipated time of processing all stages of our assignment.
